Mouna AissaouiMouna Aissaoui is executive vice president and chief operating officer of Pompeian, Inc. She has over 15 years of international food importing, manufacturing, and commercializing experience.

After moving to the United States in 1996 from her native Morocco, Aissaoui attended the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College in 2001. Having studied international marketing in college, she started working for Overseas Food Trading in Fort Lee, N.J., after graduation. During her 10 years there, Aissaoui managed international suppliers, aided with the development of more than 200 new items from France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Morocco, and Turkey, and supported sales/customer service on key accounts such as Costco, Whole Foods, Walmart, Target, and Trader Joe’s. While working at Overseas Trading, Aissaoui continued her education and in 2013 graduated with a Master of Business Administration in general management from the Zicklin School of Business.

In 2013, Aissaoui joined Pompeian as chief operating officer. In 2018, she added executive vice president to her title. She oversees all of Pompeian’s operations in the United States and has been a driving force in the company becoming the No. 1 selling brand of extra-virgin olive oil in the United States. In 2015, she led Pompeian’s launch of The Olive Branch Project, committed to helping members of the community eat and live well. Most recently, she has supported the merger of sister company Sunset Olive Oil, based in California, and Pompeian, with headquarters in Baltimore, under the management of The Pompeian Group.

Aissaoui serves on the board of directors for the Maryland Manufacturing Extension Program and the World Trade Center Institute. In March 2018, Aissaoui was honored at the 22nd Maryland International Leadership Awards for her sustained and exemplary efforts in support of Maryland’s international relations and trade. She is an advocate for women’s rights, gender equality, and children’s education, and she continues to be a leader within domestic manufacturing and job creation. Aissaoui, who lives in Harford County with her husband and two children, has served on the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, Inc. Board of Trustees since 2018.
