This interactive workshop will introduce key negotiation concepts applicable across various settings. The program will focus on obstacles often faced — or feared — by women and offer tips on bargaining with greater confidence.

Stacy Smith, JD

Anastasia (Stacy) Watson Smith, JD, is the director of special projects for Center for Dispute Resolution at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law (C-DRUM) and provides support to Carey Law’s Mediation Clinic. Smith regularly provides professional training on dispute resolution practices, strategic negotiation, and effective communication. She works in court, state agency, and education and community mediation settings, and she is licensed as a trainer for the International Institute of Restorative Practices in restorative practices and circle processes. Smith is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and its Alternative Dispute Resolution Section as well as the Maryland Program for Mediator Excellence. Before joining C-DRUM in 2007, she practiced for several years in the areas of corporate, health care, and higher education law.
