Plaza Garage ... LPR is now Live!
All UMB parkers, LPR (License Plate Recognition) is installed in Plaza Garage. Your license plate is your new gate card for access.
This affects daily Plaza Garage parkers and any registered car that enters the garage after 4 p.m. and on weekends.
Get Transportation Info Anytime
When is the next Mount Vernon shuttle? How can you rent a Zipcar or a bike on campus? Answers to these questions and more are now available anytime at the interactive parking kiosk in the SMC Campus Center lobby.
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Office of Parking and Transportation Services strives to provide students, faculty, staff, and visitors with the best possible parking and transportation experience.
News and Alerts
Know what to do in the event of an emergency garage closure BEFORE you come to campus.
During an emergency — such as winter weather, a hurricane, civil unrest, or a power outage — all 24-hour campus garages will remain open. However, non-24-hour garages will close and parkers will need to park in specific garages.
Anyone who has a parking access card will see the garage gates automatically rise when pulling up to the ticket dispenser and exit card reader. This is the result of the new LPR system that identifies your vehicle based on your license plate number(s) on file.
Those who park in the Plaza Garage should note that the garage will be undergoing significant modernization efforts in 2018 to provide three functional elevators. Please be aware of changes impacting foot traffic and restricted parking in posted construction zones.
Renovations began on the Baltimore Grand Garage on May 21. There is a reduction in available parking spots. And parkers may be directed to another garage.
