UMBrella Person of the Year — On the Rise

Michele Ondra completed the inaugural cohort of the UMBrella Coaching Program in 2017. She is a member of the President's Council for Women, where she serves on both Gender Bias and Discrimination and Gender Equity and Access committees. Ondra exemplifies the highest ideals of professionalism and support for all of the employees at Maryland Carey Law. She actively promotes and supports professional development opportunities for staff, and her commitment is tireless and her work extraordinary.

UMBrella Person of the Year — Leading the Way

Isabel Rambob 200x200Isabel Rambob, DDS
Clinical Assistant Professor, School of Dentistry

Isabel Rambob mentored dental students from 2012-2018 on interviewing skills, career planning, networking, and professionalism, and, since she became a part-time faculty member, she has been informally mentoring/coaching female dental students on goal-setting, communication skills, professional presence, assertiveness, and self-care.

Rambob has been the director of the Domestic Violence Survivor Clerkship at the School of Dentistry since 2010. Each year, she selects a group of fourth-year students to provide free dental care to female victims of domestic violence. As part of the program, an annual holiday dinner is served in December to the residents of Marian House.

Assistant Dean for Administration and Strategic Initiatives, School of Social Work

Cherita Adams created the UMBrella Group Coaching Program, which continues to help women all across the University grow. Before joining the School of Social Work, she was known as the go-to person for career development advice at UMB. She has been recognized for her work in creating career advancement programs for lower-paid positions on campus. She continues to serve as a coach in the UMBrella Coaching Program, and she steps up whenever a need arises.

Adams believes in “inclusive excellence and improving the human condition.” She is involved in many areas at the University, including the UMBrella Advisory Board, the Diversity Advisory Council’s Anti-Racism Action Committee, the COVID-19 Recovery Task Force, the Core Values Awards Selection Committee, and the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan Logistics Committee.
