Women’s History Month 2019
UMBrella Symposium and Workshops
“Be a Catalyst for Change in Your Life and Your Career”
The Women's History Month 2019 celebration was a daylong event that featured guest speakers, breakout sessions, and an experiential workshop.
The University of Maryland, Baltimore and UMBrella celebrate Women’s History Month to commemorate the pioneering, courageous women of our past, and honor the equally heroic women of today who propel this University, our state, nation and world toward true equality, inclusion, and opportunity.
This year’s event featured a daylong symposium and workshops designed to give participants tools and strategies to be a catalyst for change in their lives and careers. The day included a discussion with Mei Xu, MA, moderated by UMB President Jay A. Perman, MD, breakout sessions, a keynote address by Duilia de Mello, PhD, MS, and an experiential workshop to integrate the day’s learnings into simple mind-body practices.
