Cost of Attendance

The University System of Maryland (USM) will freeze tuition, as well as room-and-board rates, for undergraduate and graduate/professional students for the upcoming 2020-21 academic year. The USM Board of Regents voted to approve this recommendation originally put forward by Chancellor Jay A. Perman during the board’s Finance Committee meeting on June 10. Under the policy, the USM will maintain the same tuition and room and board rates that were in place during the recently completed 2019-20 academic year. For detailed information of the University System of Maryland’s press release please visit https://www.usmd.edu/newsroom/news/2060.

The Cost of Attendance is standard for students based on where they indicate that they will live on the FAFSA.

We use three standard costs, off campus (which includes University Suites at Fayette Square), on campus (Pascault Row), and with parents.

Components included in the Cost of Attendance are:

  • Tuition
  • Mandatory fees
  • Books and supplies
  • Computer fees
  • Hospitalization insurance (for information about waiving insurance coverage, visit Student Health)
  • Malpractice insurance
  • Room and board
  • Transportation allowance
  • Fees associated with the Federal Direct Stafford loan and the Federal Direct Grad PLUS loan
