Mr. Brown, as the inaugural AVP for the Office of Data Analytics and Reporting, is responsible for providing strategic direction, support, and oversight for the data analytics initiative and associated enterprise technologies.  He began his tenure at UMB in 2020, bringing over 25 years of experience in information technology, project management, application development, and data related technologies.  Among his many accomplishments, he successfully established a similar data analytics office at University of Maryland, College Park. 

Having served in IT leadership roles at UMGC, UMD, and Johns Hopkins University, Michael brings a wealth of higher-ed experience.  He is a graduate of The University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and received a Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
