University of Maryland, Baltimore's Dr. Yolanda Ogbolu (School of Nursing), Dr. Carla Alexander (School of Medicine), Ashley Valis (Executive Director of the UMB Community Engagement Center) and Virginia Rowthorn (Executive Director of the Center for Global Education Initiatives) were invited to participate in a meeting sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. “Bringing Global Health Home Now: Applying Lessons From Abroad To Local Needs” was held March 15-16, 2017, in Cambridge, Massachusetts and was a convening of health leaders to explore the application of global health strategies, programs, and values to improve health, reduce cost, improve the health care system, and increase health equity.
