Security Officer Janel Manwarring has worked for the University of Maryland, Baltimore Police Department (UMBPD) for six years. She became a Safe Ride driver to become more familiar with the University and the communities we support. 

"I like getting to know our students and find out what they're learning or researching," says Manwarring. The security officer says she appreciated when she arrives and the passenger is ready to go.

Manwarring reminds our community that Safe Ride is free and helps get you where you're going safely. "Our drivers are respectful, kind, and greet everyone when they enter the van," she says. "We are here to serve our UMB community."

Outside of work, Manwarring likes to travel.
