What is the Polar Bear Plunge?

The Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge is an event where "plungers" run into the icy waters of the Chesapeake Bay to raise awareness and money for Special Olympics Maryland.

What is a "Super Plunger"?

A Super Plunger dives into those icy waters 24 times in 24 hours! Chief Tom Leone and Lt. Matthew Johnson will both be taking on the challenge in 2022!

When is the Super Plunge?

The 2022 Super Plunge has been moved to Friday, March 18 to Saturday, March 19.

How can I help?

Donate! Chief Leone and Lt. Johnson need to raise $10,000 each before they take the plunge. No matter which team you donate to, all the money goes to a great cause!
