Students cannot seek student jobs until they are awarded for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Students at UMB have opportunities for Federal Work Study (FWS) employment. Here's a guide to understanding and navigating the process for both new and returning students.

Required Documents for Federal Work Study Recipients

New Hires:

If you've been awarded FWS for the 2023-2024 academic year, follow the step. For help with adding signatures on to PDFs, please see Instructions for Signing Documents in Adobe

Complete I-9 Form:
Visit and use employer code 14654 to complete section 1 of the I-9 form. Save the confirmation page as a PDF.

Fill out the Required Forms:

Payroll Documents:
Submit payroll documents. Do this once you get a start date email from the Office of Student Employment.

You need to submit the 2024 W4 Form, 2024 MD Withholding Form MW507, and Direct Deposit Form.

Returning Students

All documents listed must be submitted in person to our office. Please email to schedule an appointment to turn in the documents.

  1. Federal Work Study Information Sheet
  2. Job Certification (section two must be completed by your supervisor)

  3. Student Employment Agreement (Contingent I Student Agreement)

  4. Student Orientation (confirmation page must be printed and completed)

  5. Class Schedule (printed copy)
