Take It or Leave It? How to Evaluate and Negotiate a New Job Offer

Salary is just one part of a job offer. Students will learn how to evaluate total compensation and navigate the negotiation process. 

Free Tax Preparation with the CASH Campaign - Offered annually (spring semester)

Students and staff can self-prepare their income tax returns online, on campus for free (filing fees are waived for households that earned $62,000 or less in 2015). IRS-certified volunteers will be on site to answer questions and assist with the online filing process. Walk-ins are welcome; registration is encouraged.

Take Your Tax Credits to the Max

Bring your lunch and learn about tax credits that you might be missing out on and ways to save money and avoid fraud during the tax preparation process. Presented in partnership with Human Resource Services and the CASH Campaign.

Investing 101: The Basics

What are stocks? What are bonds? How do they make money? In this introduction to Wall Street, students will learn the basics of investing and characteristics of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Students will learn how to buy and sell stocks by participating in an online trading demonstration.

Investing 201: Planning for Retirement

How long do you plan to work? Although retirement seems far away, it is never too early to begin planning for it. You will learn about the different types of retirement accounts as well as strategies for setting retirement goals, saving, and investing.

Things You Need to Know Before Buying Your First Home

The home, the lender, the agent — where does the search begin? This workshop will introduce potential homebuyers to the steps involved in purchasing a home. Topics include financing, searching for a home, and selecting the right professionals to facilitate the process.
