Muldowney is an executive vice president at CBRE, Inc., which he joined in April 1996. His team at CBRE specializes in multifamily investment property sales, focused on sales in the Mid-Atlantic US.  Since joining the CBRE Multifamily Investment Properties Team, he has participated in the process of obtaining exclusive listings for and/or sales aggregating over $53 billion. 

Before joining CBRE, Muldowney practiced law as a surety claim attorney for the U.S. Fidelity and Guaranty Co. in Baltimore, and as a litigator for DeCaro, Doran now DeCaro, Doran, Siciliano, Gallagher & DeBlasis of Lanham, Md. Before earning his JD, Muldowney oversaw electronic warfare logistics projects as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force, ending his service commitment at the rank of captain. Muldowney served his entire period on active duty at the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. 

Muldowney has served on the UMBF Board of Trustees since 2019 and has served as chair of the Advancement committee since 2023.
