Katz is the co-founder and director of KatzAbosch, certified public accountants and consultants. He co-founded the firm in 1969 and has been instrumental in the firm’s success and growth to become one of the top 150 accounting firms in the United States. From 1989 to 2009 he served as president and CEO.

Katz has received multiple awards for his work including most recently the Icon Honors Award from The Daily Record (2018) and the Centers of Influence Award from SmartCEO Magazine (2016). He is a graduate of the University of Baltimore.

Katz has served on the UMBF Board of Trustees since 2019 and has chaired the Audit committee since 2020.
