Training

All UMB and Affiliate personnel are eligible to participate in travel training classes. Face-to-face workshops on policies and procedures are offered periodically throughout the year. In addition, online learning is available in the UMB Learning Management System.

The Travel Professionals Group (TPG) meets quarterly to review and discuss issues, policy, and procedures. The TPG is composed of Travel Administrators, Approvers, and Supervisors, but the meetings are open to everyone.  Meetings are announced in The Elm Weekly email.

UMB Learning Management System

The UMB Business Travel Policy and Procedure Curriculum is offered through the UMB Learning Management System.

The Curriculum contains six learning activities:

  1. Read the UMB Policy VIII-11.00(A) on Business Travel for UMB Employees and Nonemployees.
  2. Complete a brief multiple-choice quiz on the policy.
  3. Read the Financial Services Procedure on Business Travel for UMB Employees.
  4. Read the Financial Services Procedure on Business Travel for Nonemployees.
  5. Complete a brief multiple choice quiz on the procedures.
  6. Complete the tutorial on the eTravel System.

  • Beginning Sept. 1, 2018, the successful completion of the curriculum will be required for new Travel Administrators and Travel Approvers. 
  • Active Travel Administrators and Travel Approvers are encouraged to explore the curriculum.
