NIH Research Performance Project Report and Reduction in Effort
NIH Reduction in Effort of 25% or more for Personnel Named in the Notice of Award (NoA)
Any reduction in effort for senior/key personnel named in the NoA of 25% or more requires prior approval before the effort change takes place.
If the effort change has not yet taken place and you wish to request the change, you may use the Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) response, D.2.a. to request this future change.
If the effort change has already taken place without prior approval, a prior approval request should be submitted to the NIH as soon as possible. Please contact SPA-Grants@umaryland.edu to submit this request.
In D. 1 of the RPPR you should always report the actual effort for individuals who worked during the reporting period, which is the current period, not the future period.
