Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment for State health benefits will be Tuesday, October 14 through November 7, 2025 at 5:00pm. During this time, employees can enroll, cancel or make changes to their health benefits, with updates becoming effective January 1, 2026. Employees will receive alerts regarding Open Enrollment from the State of Maryland via the SPS Workday system. All changes must be made online via the employee’s SPS Workday account.
Highlights of 2026 Open Enrollment
- Healthcare FSA increasing to $3,300
- Dependent Care FSA increasing to $7,500
- Contractual Employees are now eligible for FSAs
- New benefits payroll deduction schedule
Required Actions
No action is required unless you want to change benefits or dependents or enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) in 2026. With the exception of FSAs, current benefit choices roll over to 2026.
You Need To Take Action If …
- You want to enroll for the first time, change plans, or change coverage levels for 2026.
- You wish to participate or continue to participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for 2026. The IRS requires all flexible spending account participants to re-enroll in these plans every year. If you wish to continue these plan(s), be sure to make your elections for 2026 by the Nov. 7 deadline.
