Julia Wightman, Director
Julia is originally from Edinburg, Va., and joined UMB and URecFit in September 1991. Julia received her bachelor of science degree from Radford University in Health and Physical Education and master's degree from the University of Virginia in Exercise Physiology. Growing up surrounded by the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, Julia’s love of recreation and fitness started early in life. In her free time, Julia loves spending time with her dog and enjoys kayaking, hiking, camping, fishing, and photography.
Anna Borgerding, Associate Director
Anna joined the URecFit team in October 2009. Anna oversees the overall operations of the Campus Center and URecFit. She graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and earned her master’s degree in Health and Sport Studies from the University of Iowa. When she’s not cheering for the Nittany Lions, Anna enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending time with her family.
Jimmy Heiner, Assistant Director - Aquatics & Safety Education
Jimmy was born and raised in York, Pa., and earned his bachelor of science degree in Sport Management at York College of Pennsylvania and a master's degree at Georgia State University. Jimmy has been around a pool as a swimmer, lifeguard, or aquatic professional for nearly 25 years. He is excited for the opportunity to provide the University of Maryland, Baltimore community with a safe and inviting place to swim and exercise. In his free time, Jimmy loves to spend time with his wife, Amanda, and their two dogs, Nittany and Mogli.
Jimmy Mszanski, Assistant Director - Fitness
Jimmy was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, and earned a bachelor of science degree in Exercise Science from Youngstown State University. He moved to Baltimore from Birmingham, Ala., where he earned his master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In his free time, Jimmy enjoys exercising and traveling with his dog, Atlas. He has worked in fitness for eight years and enjoys helping those around him reach their personal and professional goals.
Jacob Pridemore, Assistant Director - Sports Programs
Jacob oversees intramural sports and the Pratt Gym at URecFit. He is originally from Atlanta and has lived in Maryland since May 2016. He earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Georgia State University and a master's degree in Recreation and Sports Management at Florida International University. In his spare time, he enjoys officiating basketball and spending time with his fiancée, Caitlin, and his dog, Natty.
Mark Dixon, Assistant Director - Youth & Family Recreation
Mark is originally from Thomasville, Ala., and joined UMB and URecFit in January 2018. Mark recieved his bachelor of science degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham in Business Management and a master's degree from Texas State University in Recreation and Leisure Administration. Growing up all over the world, he got the opportunity to experience recreation throughout several different cultures. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
Cody Sizemore, Assistant Director - Operations
Cody oversees a team of facility supervisors and assists with the operations and maintenance of all URecFit facilities. He graduated from Towson University with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and earned his MBA from the University of Baltimore. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and cheering on his Baltimore sports teams.
Brandon Suarez, Administrative Assistant
Brandon was born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico. He moved to Baltimore in the summer of 2012 and attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology. While in college, he joined URecFit in the fall of 2012, working as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and aquatics admin. In his free time, Brandon enjoys staying active, doing outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends.
