The UMB Police Force provides a variety of services to ensure your safety and prevent crime on campus.
To report a lost or stolen card, contact the UMB Police Force at 6-6882. If you're experiencing card access problems, or if you'd like to request new One Card authorization, complete the Card Access Authorization Form.
The UMB Police Force offers vehicle and walking escort services to all University students, faculty, and staff. Your ID is required. Escorts are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call 6-6882.
Lost and Found
Recovered property may be obtained from the Pine Street Police Station. Bring proof of ownership and some form of personal identification. Be prepared to give a verbal or written description of the property. You have one year and 31 days to claim property. To release your property, call 6-6882.
New Employee and Student Orientation
The UMB Police Force attends new employee and student orientations to present information about our jurisdiction and services, and to distribute crime prevention brochures with safety tips. We want to help you stay safe and secure.
Community Security Survey
Safety awareness officers evaluate various locations on campus to identify possible safety or security concerns and make recommendations for solutions to potential security issues.
Operation Property Identification
To help students, faculty, and staff protect their personal items such as laptops, phones, or televisions, the UMB Police Force offers free engraving services.
Victim Witness Assistance
In the event of a crime, the UMB Police Force will assist victims and witnesses with court procedures, emergency assistance, medical access, and victim impact statements. We also can provide information on the progress of the case and return of any stolen property upon request. For more information, call 6-6882.
Finger Print Requests
For a fee of $20, we offer fingerprinting services to the University community on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your driver’s license, naturalization card (if you aren’t a U.S. citizen), social security card, and a letter stating your reason(s) for being fingerprinted. Call 6-5547 to make your appointment.
Police Report Requests
If you think someone has stolen your belongings, a UMB Police Officer will respond to your location to take an appropriate report. If you’ve been involved in an incident, for a fee of $20, you can receive a full police report. Call us at 6-6882. Checks can be made payable to the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Rape Aggression Defense
R.A.D. stands for Rape Aggression Defense and is a Women's Self-Defense Class. This program is a hands-on course designed to emphasize confidence and self discipline while developing and enhancing options for self-defense. This course will teach basic self-defense techniques and emphasize common-sense approaches to safety on campus. Classes are taught by certified instructors from URecFit and University Police.
