Cherilyn Hendrix is a respected leader in physician assistant (PA) education whose career has been defined by her commitment to developing future clinicians and advancing the profession. She served as assistant dean for physician assistant education for the University of Maryland School of Graduate Studies and as an associate professor, where she led the coordination and advancement of PA education at UMB.
A graduate of the Anne Arundel Community College PA Program (which is now the UMB PA Program) who completed a postgraduate residency in general surgery at Duke University Medical Center, Dr. Hendrix has earned national recognition for curriculum innovation that strengthens clinical reasoning and critical thinking among PA students and medical residents. Through her teaching, mentorship, and leadership, she has helped shape generations of clinicians and educators.
