UMB ELEVATE facilitators guide teams through Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), structured problem solving, process improvement, and other continuous improvement activities. Rather than providing the answers, facilitators create the structure and environment that help teams understand problems, explore possibilities, and develop their own solutions.

Facilitators in Training (FITs) develop their skills through hands-on experience alongside trained facilitators. By participating in RIEs and other improvement activities, FITs strengthen their ability to guide teams, encourage collaborative problem solving, and support continuous improvement throughout UMB.

UMB ELEVATE’s inaugural Green Belt cohort brings together employees who are developing practical skills in continuous improvement, structured problem solving, and team-based improvement. As they apply what they learn, Green Belts help expand UMB’s capacity to identify opportunities and sustain improvements within their schools and units.
