Training for Every Level

UMB ELEVATE invests in continuous improvement training that builds on the knowledge and professional expertise already present across UMB. The goal is to develop the skills and confidence of our own employees so they can participate in, lead, and facilitate improvement efforts within their schools and units.

UMB ELEVATE offers a flexible, tiered learning approach designed to provide opportunities for employees at different levels of experience and involvement.

Facilitators in Training (FITs)

The Facilitators in Training (FIT) program provides an experiential development pathway for employees who want to build their skills as continuous improvement facilitators. FITs learn by working alongside experienced facilitators during RIEs and other improvement activities, gaining hands-on experience in guiding teams through the improvement process. This learn-by-doing approach helps UMB develop a growing network of internal facilitators who can support improvement efforts across the University.

Together, these learning opportunities create a pathway from building awareness, to apply continuous improvement methods, to developing the capability to facilitate improvement efforts. Over time, this approach strengthens UMB's internal capacity to make continuous improvement part of how we work, learn, and serve.
