The Office of Inclusive Excellence and Institutional Effectiveness (IEIE) leads UMB's efforts to assess institutional performance, drive continuous improvement, and advance strategic priorities. IEIE partners with schools, units, and community partners to turn data into action, strengthening the university's teaching, research, service, and engagement.
IEIE helps create the conditions for informed decisions, improved outcomes, and a community where people feel valued, connected, and able to thrive.
Rooted in UMB’s core values of equity and justice, our work connects the University’s strategic plan goals to measurable outcomes, assessment, and accountability systems. We believe that a university committed to improving the human condition must reflect that commitment in how it measures performance, plan for the future, and support every member of its community.
IEIE supports Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) as a way faculty and staff build community and connection at UMB. ERGs are voluntary, employee‑led groups that bring together employees across the university around shared personal or professional interests, backgrounds, or experiences. Through ERGs, employees foster engagement, belonging, and mutual support while contributing to a more inclusive campus culture.
