Director of Strategic Partnerships and Advocacy
Jamie King serves as the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Advocacy for the Physician Assistant Leadership and Learning Academy (PALLA) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. A seasoned clinician and public health leader, Ms. King brings over 25 years of diverse clinical experience, including more than 15 years as a Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in Emergency Medicine. Her clinical background spans Level 1 Trauma Centers and rural emergency departments—perspectives that deeply inform her current leadership and research work.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Ms. King has an extensive background in academia, leadership, strategic planning, program development, and change management. She has led multiple workstreams of a national public health initiative focused on workforce well-being and strategic system-wide change. Her leadership portfolio includes cultivating strategic partnerships, policy advocacy, executive coaching, and program management.
Ms. King is a Doctoral Candidate in Public Health and Leadership at the University of Illinois-Chicago. Her research focuses on equitable evidence-based policy implementation in rural trauma centers, with a particular emphasis on addressing multi-level factors influencing operational and implementation challenges.
She previously served as Public Relations and Professionalism Chair for the Minnesota Academy of Physician Assistants, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to professional leadership and advocacy within the PA community.
Ms. King brings to PALLA a dynamic blend of clinical, academic, and strategic leadership skills, including adaptive leadership, implementation science, systems thinking, and health equity advocacy. In her role, she is committed to advancing PA education, strengthening strategic partnerships, and shaping policy initiatives that elevate the PA profession in Maryland and beyond.
