Crystal Edwards, JD, MA currently serves as the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs at Maryland Carey Law. Dean Edwards has successfully served in various roles at the law school, including director of academic administration, director of graduate legal studies, and director of student affairs. In her current role, she oversees the administration of academic programs, manages the graduate law (LL.M. and M.S. in Law) programs, advises students interested in dual degrees and interdisciplinary programs, administers externship programs for students seeking experiential learning opportunities outside of the law school, and manages the law school’s exchange programs with multiple global partners. She has served on several University-wide committees, including the UMB Diversity Advisory Council, the UMB Internationalization Steering Committee, and the UMB Strategic Planning Committee. Before joining Maryland Carey Law, she worked as a corporate attorney at Miles & Stockbridge, P.C. in Baltimore.
