What are the building hours for Spring 2022?  

The SMC Campus will be open Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. In the event that the hours change, an update will be included in Campus Life Weekly, The Elm, the UMB Recovery website, and this webpage.

How do I enter the building?  

Students and on-campus employees are allowed access through all entry doors, including the SMC Campus Center’s main entry (located on Lombard St.) and those attached to the Pratt garage.

I forgot my One Card, will I be allowed entry?  

A One Card is required for entry.

What health and safety expectations must individuals follow while using the SMC Campus Center? 

The following is a summary of health and safety expectations individuals must follow while using the SMC Campus Center:

  • Patrons must abide by designated flow or traffic patterns marked on floors, entries, and exits.
  • Elevators have limited capacities. Patrons are encouraged to utilize the stairs when possible.
  • Individuals must practice CDC hygiene recommendations while in the facility, including frequent cleaning of hands, use of hand sanitizer stations in the building, proper use of PPE, and exiting the facility if experiencing symptoms or illness.
  • Eating is only allowed in designated spaces. Tables and chairs have been configured to provide physical distancing. 
  • Masks or face coverings can only be removed while eating and drinking. Masks must be worn when individuals are not actively engaged in eating or drinking. Drinks in sealed containers are allowed.
  • Point-of-Use Cleaning carts containing cleaning materials must be used as instructed.

What will happen if an individual does not comply with campus policies?  

Individuals who do not comply with the UMB Policy Requiring Use of Face Coverings or other policies will receive a warning, reprimand, or other appropriate disciplinary action and will be asked to leave the SMC Campus Center. 

Can individuals or student organizations reserve spaces for meetings or events? 

Reservations to hold events and meetings are not permitted. To reserve a space, contact Event Services.

Do I need to reserve a space to study or eat?  

At this time, a reservation is not needed. If demand starts to exceed capacity, then a reservation system may be used.

Is the lactation room in the SMC Campus Center open?

Where can I eat in the SMC Campus Center? 

The consumption of food is allowed in designated spaces of the facility and during the times posted, which includes the first floor dining area (next to the book store).  Masks or face coverings can only be removed while eating and drinking. Masks must be worn when individuals are not actively engaged in eating or drinking.
