Sexual and reproductive health is all about feeling confident, informed, and supported when it comes to your body, relationships, and choices. It includes access to birth control, STI testing, gender-affirming care, and resources that help you make empowered decisions. At its core, it’s about respect, safety, and making sure every student has the tools they need to thrive—physically, emotionally, and socially.

University of Maryland, Baltimore Students may access Health Reproductive Health Services through the University of Maryland Campus Health/Student Health Center (UMCH). The clinic offers Contraception/Family Planning Counseling/ Reproductive Health Services. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 667-214-2233.

URecFit and Wellness provides sexual health education and reducing the transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). In partnership with the Maryland Department of Health (MHD), we provide STI prevention education and free safer sex supplies, such as external/internal condoms, lubricant, and dental dams. Safer sex supplies can be found in the URecFit and Wellness facility in locker rooms, the wellness suite, and at the pratt gym desk.

When used consistently and correctly, condoms can reduce the risk of STIs. Yet only 58.1 percent of graduate students reported using a condom or other protective barrier during their last instance of sexual activity, according to the American College Health Association’s National College Health Assessment 2024 survey. Many states including Maryland have implemented condom availability programs in schools, and research has shown that these programs improve condom usage among young adults.

Consent is BAE (before anything else).

Clear communication is vital to the health of any relationship, especially sexual interaction. Healthy relationships talk about boundaries, desires, and sex. Learning to set boundaries is a key skill set that everyone must learn and be clear about. Ask permission every time and wait to hear a clear and sober “YES” before any sexual activity. Remember, sex without consent is sexual assault.
