Susan C. Buskirk, DM, MS, is associate vice president and deputy chief accountability officer for the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). Dr. Buskirk has extensive experience and expertise in health care, clinical research, compliance, and administration.

She holds a doctorate in management and a master’s in biotechnology. Her dissertation, “Universities Biotechnology Commercialization: Scaffolding an Entrepreneurial Architecture,” examined the impact of universities’ mission, strategies, structures, leadership, and culture on commercialization of biotechnology developed on their campuses. Dr. Buskirk has presented nationally and internationally on topics related to research and higher education compliance.
