Darlene Trandel

Darlene Trandel bio picDarlene Trandel, PhD, CNS, FNP, PCC, NBC-HWC brings over 15 years of experience as a certified professional coach by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and is a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).  As a health, lifestyle medicine, and leadership coach, Darlene has national recognized expertise in designing, implementing and evaluating behavior change programs for training healthcare professionals in the evidence-driven basis of health, wellness and chronic care coaching with its associated competencies and application.

Darlene is a PhD in nursing science research and health science; a registered nurse and a licensed family nurse practitioner and certified in chronic care; a clinical nurse specialist in psychiatric-mental health; and internationally certified and board-certified professional health and wellness coach.

Darlene is currently on the faculty at the University of Maryland, School of Nursing, Department of Partnerships, Professional Education, & Practice, where she designs and leads several coach-mentoring programs including: both the Faculty and the Staff Mentor-Coach Programs; and the Maryland National Leadership Coach-Mentor Program.  She also is a consultant to the Leadership and the Nurse Coach-Mentor Program at the University of Maryland Medical Center; and serves as a leadership and health coach to nursing faculty/students.

In addition, Darlene is on the faculty at Wellcoaches School of Coaching, (a partner with the American College of Sports Medicine and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine), where she teaches, coaches and mentors healthcare professionals.

Darlene has a 10-year history working with the International Consortium for Health and Wellness Coaching/ National Board of Medical Examiners as Senior Adviser and Subject Matter Expert in establishing the National Board Health and Wellness Coach exam and the approval process for health and wellness coaching programs curricula.
