Testing Center Employment Opportunities

The Educational Support and Disability Services Testing Center has an exciting opportunity to support fellow students as a testing center proctor. The ESDS Testing Center is seeking qualified students that are ethically responsible, hard working, and have strong communication skills. 

Scope of duties 

  • Prepare test room or virtual environment prior to exam start.
  • Read standard instructions to test taking student when needed. 
  • Monitor test room during the administration of examinations. 
  • Enforce time limits in compliance with other examination procedures. 

Proctoring is for you if 

  • You enjoy working alone. 
  • You can sit for long periods of time. 
  • You can manage a group of anxious students who are taking important exams. 
  • You can maintain a quiet space. 

Preferred Skills 

  • Must be available for morning and evening shifts. 
  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to work independently. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks. 

Confidentiality 

Proctors are required to maintain strict confidentiality of all patrons of the testing center.

This includes: 

  • Patrons who are utilizing testing services. 
  • Content of exam materials. 

Payment 

  • Payment and rates are determined by the UMB Office of Student Employment. 
  • Students must apply for work-study to be eligible for this position.
