Scholarship: Professional Leadership Program for Women (PLPW)
The Professional Leadership Program for Women (PLPW) at Towson University was an experience I had wanted for years. Thanks to the 2025 UMBrella scholarship opportunity and the support of my Department Chair and Supervisor, I was finally able to participate, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
Over the past four months, I’ve connected with incredible women, stepped out of my comfort zone, and discovered a new perspective on leadership. I used to stay quiet in meetings, keeping my ideas to myself. This program helped me find my voice, build confidence, and truly recognize the value I bring to the table.
Because of PLPW, I gained the courage to run for UMB Staff Senate and joined UMBPACE (UMB Professional Administratives Committed to Excellence). I’m walking away from this experience not only with new skills, but with lasting connections and a stronger sense of purpose.
