As Member-at-Large, Kelly serves as a representative of all senators to the Executive Committee to ensure that all opinions within the University receive full consideration by the senate. Additionally, Kelly oversees the ongoing implementation and execution of the Staff Senate’s various liaison roles and committees.
Kelly joined UMB in June 2017 as a senior program specialist for the Shock, Trauma & Anesthesiology Research Center (STAR) and the Lab for the Study of Central Nervous System Injury within the University of Maryland School of Medicine. In this role, Kelly manages a broad portfolio of administrative, HR, and financial responsibilities.
Kelly is a second-year UMB Staff Senator. She serves as co-chair of the Board of Regents Staff Awards Committee, Staff Senate representative to the UMB Council for Arts & Culture, and previously served as the 2025 Staff Senate Elections voting form administrator. She has played a key role on the Staff Senate Retreat Committee since 2025 and has been Member-at-Large since July 2025.
Before joining UMB, Kelly served as program administrator in the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 2008 to 2017, where, among other responsibilities, she managed pilot grant programs, research training programs, and led complex event and committee operations. Kelly holds a Master of Liberal Arts from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Women’s Studies from Clemson University.
A proud Baltimore City resident, Kelly calls the Mt. Washington neighborhood home, where she lives with her husband and their two young sons.
