As Member-at-Large, Sophie serves as a representative of all Staff Senators to the Executive Committee, ensuring that the diverse perspectives of staff across the University receive thoughtful consideration in senate discussions and decision-making. In this role, she supports communication and collaboration among senators while helping advance the Staff Senate's mission and initiatives.
Sophie joined the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) in 2018, supporting vascular research within the University of Maryland School of Medicine. In 2021, she transitioned to the Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health (CVD), where she currently serves as Lead Domestic Regulatory Affairs Specialist. In this role, she oversees regulatory strategy and compliance for clinical research studies, working closely with investigators, sponsors, and regulatory agencies to ensure studies are conducted in accordance with federal, state, and institutional requirements.
Sophie is a second-year UMB Staff Senator representing the School of Medicine. She serves on the University Life Committee and as a Staff Senate Sustainability Liaison, where she advocates for initiatives that enhance employee engagement, well-being, and environmental stewardship across the University.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young sons and supporting activities that strengthen the local community.
