As President, Amanda presides at all meetings of the senate, finalizes the agenda of each senate meeting, and serves as chief liaison to UMB President Dr. Bruce Jarrell and other senior leadership. Additionally, Amanda provides the Staff Senate with vision, strategy, and direction by leading the Executive Committee and Senate in areas of strategic planning, accountability, and decision-making.
Amanda serves as the Assistant Director for Student Services at Francis King Carey Law while completing her master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Her academic and professional research focuses on the intersection of emotional intelligence, organizational change, and workplace retention—work she actively translates to broader academic forums, including conference presentations and proposals for the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). Outside her administrative and research work, she enjoys strength training, fiber arts, and travel.
Dedicated to advancing shared governance, Amanda works to ensure staff perspectives are central to institutional strategy at UMB. In addition to leading the Staff Senate, she serves on the Community Outreach Committee, supporting partnerships and initiatives that connect the university with the surrounding Baltimore community.
