School Rankings
Dear Colleagues:
It’s with great pride that I share with you news of accomplishment and recognition.
U.S. News and World Report has ranked our School of Nursing the sixth best graduate nursing program in the country. Two nursing specialties — Clinical Nurse Leader and Nursing Informatics — achieved #1 rankings. All told, the School of Nursing now has eight master’s programs ranked in the U.S. News top ten. These are well-earned distinctions, and I congratulate Dean Kirschling and her faculty and staff.
I also recognize the Carey School of Law, whose Clinical Training specialty has been ranked fifth by U.S. News and World Report. In addition to ranking law schools’ educational programs, the magazine editors identify those schools where students are most likely to encounter classmates from different racial or ethnic groups. According to this “Diversity Index,” Carey Law is the sixth most diverse law school among the country’s top 50 programs. This is a tremendous achievement and a terrific endorsement of the University’s efforts to build a culture of diversity and inclusion.
I know academic rankings are not what motivates our faculty and staff, nor are they an accurate measurement of our success. But I do think it’s worthwhile to recognize these rankings when we know they truly reflect the exceptional performance of our colleagues.
