Letters from the Chief to the Community

Do You Know This Man?

Dear Colleagues:

We often say that the safety and security of our campus is a priority and a responsibility of everyone in our community, not just the police. We all have a role to play - from maintaining awareness of our surroundings, to reporting unusual or suspicious activity when we see it.

Tuesday night, the Baltimore Police Department issued a call for help in their search for a man who broke into a private apartment within our campus earlier this month, and sexually assaulted the woman who lives there.

This video shows a man in very distinctive clothing, either just before or just after he broke into the home in the 600 block of West Lexington Street around midnight on June 1.

If you think you recognize this man, or have any other information that might be helpful to the investigation, city police ask you to call (410) 396-2076 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1 (866) 7LOCKUP (756-2587).

Sincerely,

Alice K. Cary, MS
Chief of Police
