Media Relations

Our Media Relations Team connects UMB's research, programs, inventions, and scholarship with external audiences. We put UMB experts in touch with local and national media outlets and keep our UMB community informed with the latest news.

What We Offer

  • Prepare editorial content for the UMB homepage and The Elm website
  • Write and edit opinion pieces for UMB faculty

  • Host news events
  • Prepare and distribute news advisories and releases
  • Encourage and support media coverage of UMB experts, accomplishments, and good deeds
  • Respond to media inquiries
  • Train UMB experts to work effectively with the media

  • Support Police and Public Safety and the Office of Emergency Management as secondary emergency messaging staff
  • Provide public relations advice and support to emergency medical technicians during emergencies

  • Host and produce in-person, hybrid, and virtual events
  • Support client-produced live events
