The Mobile Teaching Hospital Project in the Brazilian Amazon, set for August 2026, is a collaborative global health initiative addressing oral healthcare disparities in remote riverside and Indigenous communities. Through a fully equipped hospital boat, the project delivers essential dental care, education, and preventive services along the Tapajós River. Developed by UMB, UFOPA, and SLMANDIC, it blends academic training with community service. The initiative fosters cultural exchange and health equity while offering UMB dental students immersive clinical experiences in resource-limited settings, preparing them to become compassionate, socially engaged professionals equipped to meet global health challenges.
