Global Health Capstone for Undergraduate Students
Dr. Hassanatu Blake
University of Maryland, College Park
Associate Clinical Professor and Director of Global Health Undergraduate Program
The Global Health Capstone, launching Spring 2026, will provide undergraduate students with a culminating experience applying theoretical knowledge to real-world public health challenges. The BS in Global Health degree focuses on students meaningfully contextualizing and addressing global health disparities. Dr. Blake will design the capstone as a seminar course to integrate and apply interdisciplinary knowledge, skills, and perspectives to address a global health challenge. Capstone projects may focus on research, policy analysis, or practice. This approach would allow students to align their global health interests with their career goals, preparing for their next academic or professional steps. The primary audience for this enhanced capstone is senior undergraduate Global Health Majors.
