People and Place-Based Learning Rooted in Baltimore’s Heritage
The Baltimore Heritage Tour: People & Place-Based Pedagogy deepens our understanding of the city's historical landmarks communities, and the people that shape its vibrant history. This tour is designed for faculty in academic health, law, and social work and aims to connect historical knowledge with the broader educational experience, providing valuable insights for integrating people and place-based pedagogy into teaching, learning, and curriculum development.
The Baltimore Heritage Based Tour for Teaching and Learning is led by Baltimore native artists and historians. The experience aims to advance UMB’s mission through a collaborative learning environment by exploring innovative ways to enrich teaching with equity-focused, community-engaged, and historically grounded perspectives.
