    Katie Hughes, BA

    Katie Hughes is the executive assistant to the chief equity, diversity, and inclusion officer and vice president (CEDIO/VP) of the University of Maryland, Baltimore. In this role, she coordinates daily operations of the office and supports the CEDIO/VP in scheduling, expense tracking, meeting management and content with internal and external stakeholders; conferences and webinar planning; manages and coordinates correspondences and reports on behalf of VP; assists with project management; and manages communication. You can contact Hughes to schedule a meeting with Dr. Diane Forbes Berthoud or to propose an event collaboration with the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

    Hughes has a passion for social justice and equality. She enjoys, learning, researching, and interacting with all kinds of people. Her life philosophy is to lead with your heart and an open mind.

    Hughes earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Loyola University Maryland. Katie has multiple years of administrative assistance experience. She is a proud Baltimore native and enjoys life with her partner and three children.
