Academics

CHHS works closely with the University of Maryland Carey School of Law to administer and teach several graduate programs in Cybersecurity and Crisis Management Law. CHHS has developed in-person and online courses and CHHS staff teach these courses regularly, bringing subject matter expertise and experience into the classroom. These academic programs are developing future emergency management and cybersecurity leaders.

CHHS produces research on best practices in emergency management, cybersecurity, and public health. Research ranges from client-specific needs to scholarly articles.

CHHS offers an academic Externship each semester and employs students as Research Assistants – both opportunities to gain hands-on experience.

CHHS actively seeks partnerships with educational and research institutions to develop impactful student programs and collaborative research initiatives.

CHHS supports organizations by analyzing training needs, developing customized training curricula, facilitating sessions, and creating multi-year training and exercise plans. CHHS also designs and evaluates HSEEP-compliant exercises—ranging from drills to table-top to full-scale exercises—to test plans, identify strengths and gaps, and develop After-Action Reports and Improvement Plans. CHHS further assists with implementing improvements based on exercise outcomes.
