    Barry L. Garber, MBA

    Barry L. Garber, MBA

    For 32 years, Barry has provided advisory services to a wide range of clients, including institutions and high-net-worth individuals. He combines his years of experience with the vast resources of Alex. Brown-Raymond James to deliver customized strategies that help meet clients’ unique financial needs.

    Garber specializes in custom portfolios with expertise in overlaying alternative investments, including private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and structured solutions. He provides suitable investments based on a client’s goals and risk profile and utilizes open architecture solutions — all with unwavering professionalism and attentive service.

    Over the course of his career, Garber has received a number of accolades. He has been recognized on Barron’s annual list of Top Financial Advisors* since 2009 and was featured on its list of Top-Ranked Advisor Teams in America*, as seen in Research magazine. Additionally, Garber has been recognized as one of America’s Top Wealth Advisors** by Forbes since 2016 and Best In-State Wealth Advisors by Forbes since 2019.***

    Garber graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University School of Management with a BS in marketing and later went on to earn his MBA from New York University. He holds Series 7, 63, 65 and Health, Life, Variable Life, and Variable Annuity insurance licenses. He began his career in 1991 at Alex. Brown & Sons, which is now Alex. Brown-Raymond James.

    Garber is a founder and recent chair of a men’s leadership society, The Solomon Society, and Finance Committee chair of the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation Board (UMBF) and an Investment Committee member of the University System of Maryland Foundation.

    Barry has also been involved with The Associated Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore in various leadership capacities over the past two decades. He is a retired triathlete and a fitness enthusiast. Barry and his wife, Michele, raised three children and have three grandchildren.

    Garber has served on the UMBF Board of Trustees since 2015 and has chaired the Finance Committee since 2023.
