UMB received a grant for $566,480 from the Maryland Energy Administration to support three projects in support of clean energy on our campus and in the wider Baltimore community:
- part two of a campus decarbonization plan in support of building electrification
- a rooftop solar photovoltaic installation on one of UMB's buildings
- development and implementation of a solar workforce development program, with an emphasis on recruiting residents of West Baltimore
Purpose
To ensure compliance with Maryland's Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022 and Building Energy Performance Standards.
Alignment with Strategic Plan
Minimize UMB’s greenhouse gas emissions in support of our campus carbon neutrality goal of 2045.
