What’s something you’ve accomplished on the Staff Senate during your time as a Senator?
As a new member this year I am still learning but I hope to find opportunities to support and advocate for the staff. It is important that we have a voice on campus and are heard by the leadership, especially with all the external forces in today's world. So far, my favorite part of being on the Staff Senate has been meeting all the other dedicated senators across the campus. It is a great group of people who are looking out for all of us.
What’s a fun vacation that you’ve taken or would like to take?
This summer my daughter (21), son (19), wife (?), and I all spent a week in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. We had a blast snorkeling, hanging out by the pool, eating, and relaxing. It was the first time we had a vacation with the whole family that wasn't focused on one of the kid's activities or visiting extended family.
What’s your most prized possession and why?
My most prized possession is the Mentor Pin my son gave me at his Eagle Scout Award ceremony. He cracked me up by describing me as "Relentlessly Supportive" throughout his journey when presenting me with the pin.
What’s the theme song to your life?
"Fell in Love with a Girl" - The White Stripes - Nothing has positively impacted my life more than re-connecting with and marrying my wife, Wanda, more than 25 years ago. An added bonus is that the song has (from an early age) been one of my daughter's and my favorites to dance to. There is still great excitement whenever it comes on.
