Jenny Owens, ScD, MS

Dr. Jenny Owens serves as an Assistant Dean and Associate Professor in the School of Graduate Studies, as well as the Executive Director of the "the Grid" at UMB.
She teaches courses in the M.S. in Health Science as well as the M.S. in Health and Social Innovation, and leads a portfolio of primarily online degree programs in the School of Graduate Studies designed for working adults. Dr. Owens received her Sc.D. in Information & Interaction Design at the University of Baltimore and also holds an M.S. in Management & Leadership from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, as well as a B.A. in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Jenny is Warnock Social Innovation Fellow, in the Baltimore Business Journal Class of 2018 40 under 40, and an alum of the Johns Hopkins Social Innovation Lab. In 2019, she was named a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Culture of Health Leader which is a leadership program that fosters collaboration to build just and thriving communities. She loves spending time with her husband and two kids, and is an avid reader.
