Project Overview

The Assetworks Space Project is the consolidation of space and lease data into AiM, a part of Assetworks. It is a collaborative project with Real Estate, Planning, and Space Management (REPSM), Project Delivery, Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and space stakeholders across campus.

Why

The Assetworks Space Project was initiated following the announcement that the university’s current space management system, Archibus, would no longer be supported. This transition created an opportunity for UMB to consolidate space-related data and processes into its existing Integrated Work Management System, known internally as AiM.

Frequently Asked Questions

Archibus is a facilities management and integrated workplace management system used to manage buildings, assets, space and related services. Archibus is often paired with CAD or BIM tools so that users can visualize spaces in real time.

The overarching IWMS that houses both AiM and ReADY.

AiM centralizes all property and location data, enabling stakeholders to accurately track and analyze the total cost of both owned and leased spaces across the university. As part of the implementation, the system integrates with AutoCAD to import floor plan drawings, which are made accessible through the external-facing ReADY portal.

ReADY Space enhances transparency by crowdsourcing data from trusted UMB sources and presenting it to campus leaders in a visual, user-friendly format. This supports improved space utilization and informs long-range planning decisions. Additionally, the implementation includes the Lease module, which allows UMB to manage leasing activities by tracking who is using the space, for what purpose, and for how long.
