12:30–2 pm: Lunch Panel — Building Connections & Leveraging Resources

Sponsored by University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB)

Are you a small, minority or veteran-owned business? This panel explores how small businesses can grow their network and leverage resources at large institutions, like TU and UMB. Learn strategies for building relationships, navigating institutional structures and accessing resources. Panelists share real examples, lessons learned and simple do’s and don’ts for working with large institutions. Note, this panel is for small business owners and procurement representatives.

1:30–3:30 pm: Vendor Fair

Network with certified local vendors of all kinds, including IT, supplies and equipment, maintenance services, novelty goods, apparel and more. Small businesses who aren't certified are encouraged to attend to meet with local procurement reps and state agencies.

Small businesses play vital roles in the economic growth and development of our region and this event is a great opportunity for individuals to explore ways to diversify their purchasing by buying from local certified small, minority- and veteran-owned businesses.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED?

To be qualified to participate, you must have one of the following certifications:

  • Minority Business Enterprise (MBE)
  • Certified Small Business (CSB)
  • Veteran-Owned Small Business Enterprise (VSBE)

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Please allow up to two weeks for applications to be reviewed and for approved vendors to be contacted.
