UMSOM Dean Meeting the Candidate: Monday Feb. 7

    Feb. 4, 2022

    Dear UMB Community,

I’m pleased to share that the search committee for the next dean of the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) has presented a slate of finalists for the position. As such, I’d like to invite all University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) faculty, staff and students to the first of four finalist town halls to meet the candidates being considered for the position of Dean of UMSOM.

The first UMSOM Dean town hall will take place on Monday, Feb. 7 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in-person at Leadership Hall, MSTF. You will have the opportunity to hear from and ask questions of the candidate, John M. Carethers, MD, MACP (see biographical information below).

This will be the first of four such town halls. We will share information about the remaining three as they are scheduled. I am grateful for the work of the search committee in bringing four strong candidates for consideration to UMB.

I look forward to seeing many of you in person on Monday, and at future town halls.

    Sincerely,

    Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS

    President
