Campus Climate Survey

Dear Colleagues:

In spring 2016, we administered a survey to measure your perceptions of UMB's campus climate—in such areas as diversity and inclusion, workplace fairness, and institutional integrity. That survey gave us a snapshot of employee satisfaction at UMB and, importantly, it established a baseline for growth.

Next week, you'll receive an invitation from Gallup to complete our next campus climate survey. The survey contains many of the same questions you answered three years ago, which is critical to measuring our progress on key indicators. However, the survey does contain some new questions, notably on your perceptions of sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace.

Regular campus climate surveys underpin our efforts to continuously improve UMB's working and learning environment. They tell us where we need to focus attention and where our efforts are paying off. And so I ask you to take part in the Gallup survey when you receive your emailed invitation next week. Your responses are, as always, completely confidential.

Your invitation will contain a personal code and a link to Gallup's website, where you can access the survey. Completing it should take no more than 15 minutes. If you have any questions, Gallup will provide phone and email support.

We cannot improve UMB's culture and climate without your help. So I thank you for taking part in this survey and committing to UMB's success.

Sincerely,

Jay A. Perman, MD
President
